As promised, we also have an update on Southampton before their FA Cup quarter-final tie with Bournemouth.
Manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has confirmed that Oriol Romeu, Theo Walcott, Danny Ings, Will Smallbone and Michael Obafemi remain out injured, while on-loan forward Takumi Minamino is cup-tied having already featured in the competition for parent club Liverpool.
“Nothing great is changing,” said the Saints boss earlier. “With Ori, with Theo Walcott, with Ingsy, Will Smallbone and Michael Obafemi, we have a few players out. The rest of the team is fit.”
'Great opportunity' for Johnstone - Southgate
West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone has been handed his first call-up, following the injury to Jordan Pickford.
"Karl Darlow has had a very good season at Newcastle but he has found himself out of the team at just the wrong time," Gareth Southgate said.
"Sam Johnstone, in a team that has had a difficult season, has kept a very good level of performance. He is comfortable in possession as well as keeping the ball out of his net. It is a great opportunity for him."
Injuries opened a space for Lingard - Southgate
Southgate on Jesse Lingard's recall: "We have injuries in attacking areas which have opened up an opportunity for Jesse. I have to say his performances for West Ham have been excellent. We know he can perform at that level.
"Ideally, you would be saying he needs to do it for longer but that has not been the option this time around. We have lost Jack Grealish, Jadon Sancho and one or two others like Harvey Barnes and James Maddison.
"There is a space there. We trust Jesse and think he can play a big part in these three games."
Bamford 'very unfortunate' - Southgate
Ollie Watkins' first call-up means there is no place in the England squad for Leeds striker Patrick Bamford. Boss Gareth Southgate says Bamford was "very close" to a call-up.
"Both Ollie and Patrick, in particular, their goals record has been good," he added.
"We like the personalities of both. Ollie is a player we have had less interaction with in the past. It will be good to get to know him.
"We like his pressing and speed and runs in behind. For his first season in the Premier League at a big club he has done exceptionally well.
"All of the things I have said about Ollie I could have said for Patrick. He is very unfortunate. Patrick is a player we are very much looking at as well."
Purkiss27: Seriously, what does Wan-Bissaka have to do to get selected?
Ashwin R: Where’s Wan-Bissaka? He’s definitely way ahead of that Liverpool fella this season.
Great to have Stones back - Southgate
John Stones' recall means he could make his first England appearance since November 2019 and add to his 39 caps.
"It is a huge plus for us," Gareth Southgate said. "John has played a lot of internationals for us. For a period we were not sure if he was going to be able to recapture that form.
"When you invest that much time and as many caps in players like that and he disappears, it is a huge disappointment.
"John deserves huge credit for turning that around and finding a level of consistency. It is great to have him back."

Joseph Palmer: Trippier over Trent? I know Liverpool haven’t been great but come on. I feel for Trent, he’s never really been given a proper chance for England over the past years despite being a class above Walker and Trippier. One dip in form and he gets dropped.
Alexander-Arnold not at the level of recent seasons - Southgate
Gareth Southgate says Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold's omission is solely due to his club form but has backed him to regain his place in the future.
"In some areas of the pitch we have incredible competition for places," said the England boss.
"I don't think he has played to the level he found in the last couple of years but I think he is getting close to that now. He has taken steps in the right direction.
"I have made that same call to Kyle [Walker] and Kieran [Trippier] in the past and their response was a good one. I am certain Trent will play a big part in the future."

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham has been named in the squad but Gareth Southgate says coronavirus restrictions in Germany could still mean he misses the matches.
"We left him in the squad but at this moment it looks like quarantine rules in Germany will rule him out," Southgate said.
"We are still investigating what is possible and we wanted to name him in the squad."

Gareth Southgate on Luke Shaw's recall: "We often talk about coaches' and managers' impact on players but we have to give players a lot of credit.
